If granted, these funds will primarily be used to create hands on games centers to support student learning. Game learning is increasingly used in classrooms as a regulated way for students to attain attain academic proficiency. My materials will be used rigorously for scaffolded learning experiences to both support those who need extra help and for those needing a bit more thought extentinsion in the classroom. Regardless of student abilities these materials will meet their needs in some way.
Students should fall in love with learning and my hope is that my centers will open their eyes to that. As a 3rd grade teacher, the materials I hope to receive will support CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.L.3.2, improving students grammar usage, CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.L.3.4 for understanding vocabulary, CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RL.3.1 aiding in comprehension of main idea and key details, and CCSS.MATH.CONTENT.3.OA.B.5 looking at multiplication, division and the relationship between them. These will be met with the use of the array of flashcards I have asked for, handwriting concept book, sentence building set, the headphones to increase focus during virtual learning across all subject areas, and more.
