I am requesting two different sizes of magnetic tiles because I would like my students to use the smaller tiles to plan what their structures are going to look like first, before they begin to build the real size structure with the big tiles. This process goes very well with our engineering unit ( Imagine, Plan, Create, Improve, and Ask). I chose the Picasso figures, because I thought that would be a great fun way for students to think-pair share with their partners about what they are going to build as engineers. Students can also pretend to walk and examine their structures with the figurines. I also felt that the construction kits would be fun and more engaging for my students. The marble roller, cars, and Ferris wheel tiles are a great way to add fun elements and more opportunity for students to create different structures.
The magnetic tiles/plates will give my students the opportunity to create structures that are out of this world! The possibilities are endless. I cannot wait to see what my students will build. This excites me and I know it will excite them too!
