My students will benefit from Orton-Gillingham curriculum because it is a researched based program for students with Dyslexia and those having difficulty with their literacy skills. This program uses a multi-sensory approach, which is essential in special education.
Plus, it has 80 years of research to support it and the success with students with special needs have made. The program is explicit instruction and done in a small group or 1-to-1 setting. In addition, having the ability to have a whiteboard/ chart paper stand will give visual access to what is being taught.
