Many of my students have difficulty integrating various sensory stimuli in the environment, while others require and seek additional sensory input. All of these students require breaks, assistance, and a variety of sensory activities to help them manage their sensory needs. In addition to helping my students regulate their sensory processing systems, engaging in sensory play can also assist students develop a greater interest in their environment, improve attention, communication, social, and fine and gross motor skills.
