The students and families that I serve are awesome and resilient despite their circumstances. Unfortunately, 100% of them come from families that are low income and underprivileged. Despite their current financial circumstances they are very bright and have the will and determination to be better than great. However many of my students struggle to learn the importance of social skills, like positively with others and starting conversations. The time spent on lecturing in schools means that my students don't always have the time to use these skills in the classroom. I would like to provide them with opportunities in before school to socialize and have fun with other students.
