FIRST Robotics Competition Team at our school is an after school extra-curricular program for students, grades 9-12, to learn about the fields of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) through hands-on learning in the field of robotics. Through the FRC program, my robotics team members design, build, and program robots.
These robots then compete at regional competitions, with the potential of qualifying for the Regional Championship Tournament and the World Championship competition. This year we are rookies in FRC and we have faced unprecedented challenges finding sponsors and funding to complete our robot.
We still need a cart to move the robot around at events, as this robot can have a final weight of up to154 lbs and is approximately 24" wide and 36" long, and 45 inches tall. We are also in need of aluminum for the "Belly Pan" of the robot, some square tubing for intake mechanism designs, and brass material for bushings that will be machined by the students.
