After coming back to school after the pandemic, the tennis program that used to come to the school is no longer serving the school community. I spoke to the after school supervisor and told her that I would love to continue and coach tennis for our students. With great excitement to have tennis back in the fall, she gave me the "YES"! However I was quickly informed that one of the custodian staff over the summer, while cleaning, threw away most of our tennis equipment. Rackets, tennis balls, nets, poles, gone. It broke my heart to see that all our equipment was gone. This is the reason I am applying for Ðǿմ«Ã½, in order to recoup some of our equipment at the school, but most importantly to bring the life and excitement back into the tennis program for my students.
No tennis equipment means no tennis program. Getting these equipment will be a great help for the students to use in order to learn tennis. Without any tennis equipment we cannot teach our scholars confidence and problem solving strategies. Without having this equipment I cannot teach tennis and students wouldn't be able to learn this new skill that has great value both academically and socially for our students. Having more tennis rackets of different sizes will help to cater to my students and have more rackets to go around. Ball hoppers will make picking up the tennis balls easier. We need a peewee tennis net to use in the gymnasium while we wait for warmer weather in order to use the outdoor courts. Tennis is a sport that gets our students happy and excited and having this equipment is important.
The equipment will be used greatly and we thank you very much for your generosity.
