Our school is about 40% low income and many students have never been to an art museum or festival. With these art materials, students have the opportunity to create and socialize without electronic distractions. Through the exploration of multicultural arts, students will learn about Chinese culture and philosophy by creating calligraphic proverbs. They will make beads in the style of northern African societies, as well as draw and paint with techniques studied in Europe. I hope to teach my students to appreciate their creative potential and to enjoy contemplative experiences.
