Our classroom library will be organized in leveled baggies for daily reading in the classroom. The laminating cards and worksheets that I will print or copy, will be able to go home as homework practice and will be durable to wipe down and reuse when they bring it back. Our library will help students improve their reading skills and will also help motivate students reading abilities in and out of the classroom. We have daily “Dear time” which is reading time for about ten minutes. The text will be used in small groups, while working on author’s purpose, text features, beginning, middle, and ending. We will also use them for creating a love for reading and writing. During our math block I will be using the cash register to role play counting and recognizing the different coins and their value. The books that have Math stories will be a great way to engage students in solving mathematical problems.
