I teach at a Title I school were most of my students do not have access to books. By the time they get to 4th-grade, they have already determined they hate reading regardless of the fact that they have never successfully completed a chapter book. I am on a mission to give the love of reading. We created a reading goal at the beginning of the year, my students want to try to read 215 chapter books as a class by the end of the year. Currently, we are at 63 chapter books read this year. I need an updated book collection to continue this amazing momentum of reading that is occurring with my 4th-graders. In my room, I have a multiple book shelves, a book display, and am constantly working with my students to find books they love. "Reading is to the mind, as exercise is to the body".
