In Fashion Design class, students learn how to design, construct, and sew their own garments. Using the (much need) dress forms, projects will allow students to learn essential skills such as Draping, Pattern Making and construction. Students will create their wearable works of art by constructing their fashions right on the dress forms.
Personal expression and creative problem solving are the main goals of these projects. Projects will include exploration of historical, cultural, sustainable and costume fashion techniques.
Many students in this class are considering Fashion Design as a career choice, others just want the life-long skill of creating their own clothes.
