My students are noticeably more engaged in their work when they are given a choice of where they can sit and work. Flexible seating allows students to take charge of their learning and make the choices that work best for them. During independent work times, they choose a location in the classroom that works for them. Making sure students are comfortable is an essential component in motivating them. I have noticed amazing differences in my students when they are given a choice in their seating. The surf chairs that I have selected will help my students by giving them additional seating options. My students also really enjoy novel studies and can use the flashcards to help them master all their multiplication facts which is a major standard in 3rd grade. I also take a TON of pictures throughout the year of all the fun activities we do in class and use them to create memory scrapbooks at the end of the year which makes a great keepsake.
