All of these will help students in grades kindergarten through second improve their phonics and phonemic awareness skills and reading fluency. These skills are crucial for bringing students closer to performing at grade level and becoming lifelong readers. All of my students currently struggle with reading and written expression. This project has games and puzzles we can use as a class to build skills. I have also requested a color printer which will be used to print more vibrant sight word flashcards to help my students practice new words. These tools will go a long way towards filling in those learning gaps and helping my students to get back on track and achieve not only their Individualized Education Plan (IEP) goals, but meet and exceed the standards set by the state of Nevada. (Standards addressed: RL1, RL3, RL5 RL 6, RI1, RI 2, RI5, RF 2 a 2b 2c, RF 1a, 1d, RF 3a, 3b 3 c 3D 3f, RF4 a 4 c)
