Although COVID had a huge impact on my students, we realized that collectively we all needed to increase our ability to combine content knowledge with applications in the real world. When something like COVID can have such a huge impact on our productivity and work force readiness skills it became apparent to us that we needed to increase our knowledge and use of technology in the classroom and beyond.
Being bilingual has always been a vital skill in the success of our students but the ability to reach out to people internationally and increase our reach as consumers and producers has become apparent so this year we are taking great care to make sure all of our classroom activities are meaningful and can be used immediately. We will focus on interpersonal conversation skills which is the first standard in Beginning , Intermediate and Advanced Spanish Literacy. For this reason we have been fortunate to create a partnership with a school in Madrid, Spain and will be having a virtual exchange with them. We will be creating videos on certain topics that include life in the United States, current events, how COVID has impacted the way we live, learn and work and will change the way we do things in the future.
