Sensory processing difficulties impact a child's whole life. By having access to sensory toys, my students with sensory processing needs will be able to use the toys as part of their daily routine which will enable them to self-regulate. Some of the toys I have requested include: liquid floor tiles, a froggy jumper, a play tunnel, and Magna-Tiles.
Accommodating my students with sensory toys will allow them to calm their bodies which will then allow for a more focused and calm mind. Being able to meet sensory processing needs will prevent difficulty with learning, because the child with unmet sensory needs may be over or under responding in the environment. Giving them access to sensory toys will provide them with the input they need to be successful!
