When I was in high school we did a biology experiment practically every week. However, I work for a district that is extremely large and cannot afford to do such things. The use of frogs to dissect and examine would help my students understand the body systems they are required to learn for their end of year state exams.
Having hands on experiences would make a difference between a student who has learned scientific fact and a student who is knowledgeable about science. This allows them to be highly engaged with the material they have learned and then make real-world applications as they learn about their bodies.
