Small group learning is the focus of teaching students with autism. They rely heavily on manipulatives to learn things that might be abstract. Even though they use a functional curriculum, we still expose them to other subjects, including science.
As teachers, we move around in our classroom to assist groups and having a rolling whiteboard makes it easier for teachers to deliver read-aloud stories in a convenient way. We are so happy for this opportunity to optimize our teaching and to give students materials that they need to be the best that they can be.
