COVID-19 has negatively affected the progress of our English language learners because the at-home and hybrid schedules have limited their opportunities to practice English in the classroom with their school friends. It is therefore now doubly important to provide our students with fun opportunities to practice the English language.
These games and resources will help me provide our students with lots of fun activities and positive reinforcement for practicing English. The headphones will enable them to use online resources that require them to listen to texts and videos while working at their own pace. They will also help them get used to our standardized testing environment.
These items will also help me teach our Long Term English learners and thus meet WIDA's English language development standards.
