Learning is most effective through playing in the early elementary grade levels. While engaging in the activities that I have chosen, they will develop fine motor skills, language skills, and phonological awareness, and preparedness for reading. Without these materials, students have difficulty achieving these skills. Especially when learning the English language, they should be involved hands-on. It is also essential to provide these experiences at school because many of these children come from low-income households where they cannot foster hands-on experience through toys and activities as they do in school.
