Many of my 9-12 students love cooking, and I'd love to give them the supplies necessary to make crêpes at home to bring to school for La Chandeleur, the day in February when French, Belgian, and Swiss people eat crêpes. This will be the culmination of our food unit in French 2 and 3 as well.
To accommodate for all students' at-home situations and give them all a better chance to participate, I am requesting some food supplies and containers as well as more permanent materials (fridge, folding table) to allow us to set up for future holiday celebrations. My hope is that I can create memories for students and get them excited about learning during a difficult time at home and school.
My plan for this specific activity is to send home the non-perishable ingredients with student volunteers to cook crêpes and bring them in to eat (outside and COVID-safe) on the day of La Chandeleur.
