Talking through math problem solving helps all students involved. It validates their thoughts and helps them persevere. By sharing multiple strategies, students are justifying their work and thinking more deeply. Being able to adjust the height of the table has its advantages, as well. Flexible seating options can be used; ie. balls, stools, chairs. Also, students could stand or walk around the room to work on problems.
