My students, who are in middle school, have high social and emotional needs and come to my office for counseling services and special education evaluations. In counseling, middle school students are not yet ready to dive into true talk therapy and continue to benefit from play-based therapy tools and techniques.
Games are an engaging way to build the therapeutic relationship while assessing a child’s strengths and areas where there is room for growth. With these items, my students will have a wide variety of activities to help us build rapport, learn coping strategies, increase social skills, learn problem solving skills, and much more.
