Covid-19 has greatly impacted my students who have specific learning disabilities. The decrease in face to face specialized instruction has made it difficult for these students to keep pace with grade level curriculum and peers.
Students with special needs require repetitive concrete learning opportunities to master key concepts that future mathematical skills will build upon. The resources that we are requesting include many hands on math materials including self correcting tools like the math quiz cards with power pen, place value and fraction manipulatives, and domino games that reinforce 3rd-5th grade Nevada math standards including 3.OA.A.1, 3.OA.C.7, 3.NF.A1, 4.OA.A.2, 4.OA.A.3, 4.NBT.B.4, 4.NBT.B.6, 4.NF.A.1, 5.NBT.A, 5.NBT.B, 5.NF.B.4.
The regression noted in the area of reading due to Covid-19 also requires age appropriate, high-interest reading material, that is differentiated to our students' ability level. These materials increase fluency, and comprehension as well as keep the students' attention in small groups, while meeting Nevada grade level ELA standards (RF.3, RF.4.3, RF.5.3, RL.5.1, RL.4.1, RL.5.1),
