Art instruction helps children with the development of motor skills, language skills, social skills, decision-making, risk-taking, and inventiveness. Art experiences boost critical thinking, teaching students to take the time to be more careful and thorough in how they observe the world. Involvement in the arts is associated with gains in math, reading, cognitive ability, critical thinking, and verbal skill. Arts learning can also improve motivation, concentration, confidence, and teamwork. Art class is a place for students to create, discover and use their imagination. With the materials I’m requesting with this project, I’ll be able to ensure that art continues to help put joy into the lives of all students.
