My students are from an economically depressed, very rural area. Access to internet and computers is often very limited, except at the school. We are Title 1, 105 students K-12. I teach all of the Social Studies classes and have one write-on world map available. Having large, full color maps will help make the world more accessible to to all of my students. They also help address Social Studies, Geography, standards for interpreting maps. SS6-8WGGS-27 is just one example. These maps will help me show the interconnectedness of culture and geography that they have not had a chance to understand before this. It will help them understand spatial relationships and where they are in the world.
