These activities will be used to engage students during center time and build on skills that are the starting blocks for fluent readers and math geniuses! When students come to kindergarten they are expected to have some letter recognition and letter-sound recognition, but if they don't it's an uphill battle from the start. Having engaging materials will help a child who would otherwise struggle, but is excited to learn.
Math is a skill that we can't live without! And with these materials, my students will be excited about math, even when it can be a challenge. Kindergarten students should have beginning number and shape recognition at the start of the school year, but if they don't it can be difficult to catch up. If the lesson is engaging and fun, the learning will follow!
