The headphones, computer mice, and mouse pads will help to enhance our one-to-one technology utilization by providing the students with a more streamlined way to interface with their computers.
The items I am requesting will help students in class and at home to conduct research projects, learn computer coding, and engage with our online reading and math programs. Additionally, these items will help the students to engage in remote learning if our class is ever excluded again due to COVID. We have already had several days where the class was excluded and students had to use their laptops to join the class. It was very difficult for students who didn't have access to a mouse and headphones to fully participate in the activities.
The specific NVACS that will be addressed with these items ELA, Math, Science, and Social studies standards as we use our technology to enhance almost every lesson we do during the day. They are also really going to enhance our state Computer Science and Nevada Integrated Technology Standards including:
CS 3.D.1 Describe how internal and external parts of computing devices function to form a system.
CS 3.DA.CVT.1 Organize and present collected data visually to highlight relationships and support a claim.
NITS 3.EL.A.1 Independently utilize digital and non-digital planning tools.
NITS 3.EL.D.1 Demonstrate appropriate touch (blind) typing with speed and accuracy.
NITS 3.KC.C.1 Organize information and make meaningful connections between resources.
NITS 3.ID.B.1 Describe a variety of ways to interact and contribute to a digital product.
NITS 3.CT.C.2 With teacher guidance, identify and describe the cause of hardware (e.g., wiring), connectivity (e.g., no internet connection), and software (e.g., frozen screen) problems.
The magnetic fraction tiles will help students specifically work on MATH 3.NF.A.3
Explain equivalence of fractions in special cases, and compare fractions by reasoning about their size.
