The items I have requested provide my students with a variety of options to learn how to move their bodies like their able bodied peers. The Twister game allows the able bodied peers to participate in a fun interactive movement game with my more physically challenged students. The music options available with technology requested, iPad and the piano mat make movement fun and motivational with songs and interactive games on the iPad and mat. The stepping stones and Zoom ball also allow for peers to support my students and be models for their movement, balance activities. The PreK academic gross motor standards of general form and function of walking, running apply to this project. Incorporating movement with learning objectives the kinesthetic learners.
Many of my students were home with limited movement opportunities and limited adult support for movement and positioning which allowed them to become very weak. That loss of strength made it harder for them to access their educational materials and participate with their peers in their educational programs when they returned to school.
