I am requesting pipe stems, paint brushes, fabric collage animals, craft sticks, foam sensory paint and more. Every week my students do art projects to promote their creative side. We have a new book each week we focus on and I always try to incorporate an art project to go with the book theme. I also try to incorporate art projects that go with the season or upcoming holiday. The kids love using all sorts of materials to create and it teaches them to make decisions for themselves and explore their creative side.
For example during the month of November we have made name turkeys to help the children to learn how to spell their name and recognize the letters in their name. We have used different art techniques such as painting turkeys, cutting out turkeys, popsicle stick turkeys, coffee filter turkeys, and coloring turkeys. I would like to continue doing projects like this each month. I also do art with the other Early Childhood teacher and art supplies are expensive and we go through them quickly. This project will benefit almost 60 students in our Early Childhood program.
