My students get slowed down having to share calculators as they try to collaborate with their groups and calculate complex equations. A scientific calculator for each student will give my 10th graders equitable access to needed tools by enhancing students' abilities to contribute to our class discussions. Chart paper is an essential material for our collaborative classroom. When groups work together to share different approaches to problems, they creatively construct and present their ideas and approaches to each other. This helps them become aware of a diverse array of approaches to solving problems.
