With Covid affecting so many people, books are in high demand as an activity that you can do at home. One example is a girl currently at home who can not come to school on account of medical recommendations. She is an avid reader who loves to immerse herself in the world of literature. Since she has been lacking from the experience of coming to school and checking out books from the library, we have brought the library to her. She is just one of the many that has been stuck at home due to the pandemic.
We have been trying to ease the burden of seclusion from the school by bringing a small part of the school to a person's home: The Library. While we may not be able to bring homebound students in-person learning experiences or the wonderful people of our school to their homes, these books serve as a reminder that the school is still here for them.
Enriching and updating our school library with books that students have chosen is a win-win for everyone! This project will tie directly into Nevada Library Standards 5.T.1, and 5.S.1.
