By obtaining more copies of different works, our school is able to engage readers of all language backgrounds, from our students who are English Learners to those interested in foreign languages other than what is offered by our school. Additionally, even if they are a reluctant reader, when students feel there is a variety of literature available to them that address numerous topics, from stories of female empowerment to those that focus on activism and inclusion, they become more engaged with the class material, the school culture, and the larger world around them.
However, due a limited budget, our library has not been able to keep up with the needs and demands of our students. The funds donated will be used to update our existing library with more current titles across content areas, additional copies of popular books, and access to culturally responsible literature to meet the authentic identities of students on our campus. Your donation ensures access for students of all grade levels whose families don't have the financial resources to buy their own books.
