Due to remote instruction my kindergarten children missed out on the true preschool experiences of having access to sensory materials and resources which prepares them for kindergarten. Young children need to feel, see and hear. These materials will be used when a break is needed from direct instruction so the children can refocus and recharge and use their senses to touch and see. When using these materials the children think they are playing, but they are working. Sensory materials provide numerous benefits to child development including: problem solving skills, fine and gross motor, language skills, peer relations and increasing concentration and memory.
