Can you focus on anything else when you are so hungry that your stomach is grumbling and stinging? Of course not. Neither can kids. The variety of snacks will given to students if they can't focus because they are so hungry all they can focus on is that. It is amazing how a simple thing like a snack turns a student around and allows them to get back on task and do their work. Your brain can not absorb information if you are too hungry. Feed your stomach, feed your brain.
