The students I serve have weathered Covid-19, anxiety, and a multitude of challenges as they transitioned from full virtual learning to hybrid, then full in-person learning. Students and teachers come together every day, ensuring they practice safety protocols to secure an opportunity to attend school. They persevere Monday to Friday through engaging, rigorous assignments and assessments. The transition back into a structured setting after nearly 2 years of self-management is challenging. Many don't realize the stress this causes all parties involved. Because of this the school has implemented Social Emotional Learning (SEL), Mindfulness, and Positive Behavior Intervention Support (PBIS). This classroom project gives students a space designed by them to support the consequences of their model behaviors. Having rewards/activities that students want to engage in can impact an entire school.
About my class
