My classroom library is a place where students can go to be whatever they want to be. They can read about kids just like them as well as kids who they've never interacted with before. They can read fantastic tales full of magic or read about kids whose magic is just being themselves despite any challenges.
My students deserve to have books that speak to them, that inspire them and that challenge them to change their thinking about others and about the world. These books are all selected to help them have conversations about situations that maybe they've never been in, to be able to walk a mile in someone else's shoes. Ultimately, I want to instill a love of reading in my students.
