Students use foam board to construct a 3D model of a scenic design which supports student learning in working with scale, construction, texture, and color.
While many students have seen a play before, most of them begin my class with little understanding of scenic design processes that encourage creative problem-solving and higher level thinking, while at the same time encouraging growth with fine motor skills.
This learning translates directly into our CTE teaching standards for my state, with many students continuing learning over three years as they work toward program completion.
