Coming back from COVID-19 has proven difficult for many of our Middle School students. They are struggling with feeling overwhelmed by being back full time, and socializing with a large amount of students, unlike the last year and a half.
We are building a safe space where students can come during lunch or during times of stress where they can decompress, breathe deeply, sit in a comfy chair, engage in yoga and chill out.
Once they are calm, the clinical support staff will work with students using games, fidgets and other resouces to teach and reinforce prosocial skills to be used during class time and unstructured time. Our goal is to assist all of our students to develop resiliency in a place where everyone is included.
