With the supplies requested, I'll be able to print more labels, create anchor charts, label items and send home printed information and/or activities. An important piece of a preschool student's literacy skills develops from repeatedly seeing their materials labeled in print/with pictures throughout the classroom, seeing their names labeled throughout the classroom daily and having visual reminders of their learning through anchor charts posted. Labels allow for students to be indepedent within daily routines.
Labeling throughout the classroom helps students with early reading and wiritng skills. Another important part of preschool student's learning is the very important factor of communication from school to home. Although there are many ways to communicate virtually, via phone and/or internet, some families still appreciate printed information that they are able to hold or post in their home.
