By having students listen, talk, and kinesthetically make use of grade-level appropriate manipulatives, they are developing stronger overall connections. These connections help students store information in their long-term memory, thus building a substantial foundation.
With over a one hundred kindergarteners at our school, we do a lot of sharing. However, many of our centers are purchased with personal funds, limiting their amount of use through the team. We'd like to offer quality materials at our school, since what we presently have is old, worn and out-of-date.
Our students would get the opportunity to still share, but have a wider variety of manipulative and centers to utilize each week for their language learning.
