I will be taking over a class of 36 students who have just started a new curriculum this school year. With this curriculum, they cannot annotate their text, hence the need for sticky notes and sticky flags.
Organization is key to being successful – The students need hooks to hang their Chromebook bags while they charge, mailbox style organizers, and clipboard storage (so they don’t come sliding out of the cabinet as they do now).
They also will need to add different vocabulary and responses in journals on printed pages. Since they also will be writing in preparation for the state’s end-of-year tests, I will need to print various resources for them. I would love to print items that they may need within the classroom since the district sends our printing to an area not easily accessible throughout the day. The copier/scanner/printer on my list will help students get items they need right away instead of waiting until the next day since I can only retrieve items during planning for block 1 or the end of the day after students have left for block 2. They are also required from time to time to illustrate something to show their understanding which Is why I would love for them to have different colored papers to choose from. They also need a refill of pencils, erasers, glue, tissues, and dry erase markers which the students have used up from the supplies at the beginning of the year.
