I teach a wonderful class called Mindful Moment. Mindful Moment is geared towards lessons that foster social and emotional awareness, enhance psychological well-being, and promote academic success. Mindfulness is very beneficial for children because this practice strengthens their ability to focus, concentrate and manage their emotions. In today's fast-paced world, it is essential to strengthen these abilities as early as you can, so that the lack of these abilities do not deter students from their education. Also, establishing these mindful habits early in life, reduces stress, distraction and helps scholars effectively regulate their emotions; this way, managing relationships with friends, family and most importantly, themselves comes with ease.
One of the main ways we practice mindfulness here at MSA is through yoga. My scholars and I refer to it as our mindful flow. We also practice mindfulness through breathing exercises, communication, social awareness and more. The students absolutely love it and say that it really helps to quiet their minds and get them ready to learn. Unfortunately, the wear and tear is starting to become visible on our yoga mats. My class and I would greatly appreciate any contributions made to help us get some new, more durable yoga mats for Mindful Moment. This is our first project so Ðǿմ«Ã½ will be matching donations up to $50 when a donor uses our promo code: LIFTOFF. My scholars and I thank you all in advance!
