The students have been learning about seven of Gardner's multiple intelligences. The goal of the lesson was to have the students to learn more about and from each other, as classmates, despite the challenges they face learning to become better as using and understanding language. The brain poster and toy will be used to describe the location of each of the targeted intelligences (number smart, word smart, music smart, picture smart, etc.)
Students will caste their votes as to which one of the intelligences most students in the class identify themselves as, using the ballot box and index cards. The votes will be tallied using the adding machine during each session. The book marks and poster board will be used to create a multiple intelligences collage by the students.
Certificates of participation will be rewarded at the conclusion of the project, using the card stock. Each student will also be given a sheet of scratch paper to enjoy creating their own work of art, which they will use to show how the project made them feel about what they have learned.
