The pandemic has changed the face of education for both students and teachers. My classes no longer use pencil and paper and we rely on computers every day. My students need a computer in order to access the curriculum for not just my class, but all of their classes. Without a computer it is difficult to participate in the daily instruction. These are students with learning disabilities, and computers help make the content more accessible to them.
By donating to our project, not only will you be allowing my students to grow as learners and increase their level of academic achievement, but you will also be providing them with access to supports that they simply do not have with a pencil and paper. Computers will give my students access to programs such as Grammarly, Snap&Read, and IXL.
Students will be able to participate fully in their classes, which will in turn build their confidence and self-esteem. Any opportunity my students have to interact with technology is a huge help for them.
