We are a rural K - 8 school in a North Country village. My 7/8 grade chorus students are students who enjoy singing, are tuned in to the latest, and absolutely love to have fun. They come from a spectrum of economic and family stability. They are tech savvy and connected, and are motivated to do well. These students are blessed with good school programming that is committed to its arts, sports and guidance programs in the face of the current economic climate. Our students are supported in the community as well, with mentoring programs, a comprehensive rec program, and a vibrant library. In the last few years, however, the school has had to work hard to keep its music, art, PE, and other programs intact as the town struggles to keep taxes down.
