Music is essential to the development of a child. It teaches math, language, history, reading, and science. Research shows that students that receive music education have higher academic success.
By drumming on buckets, my students can get some hands-on experience reading and performing rhythms, improving hand-eye coordination, improving concentration, and teaching students how to properly hold a drum stick.
Bucket drumming will also prepare my students that want to join the beginning band when they go to middle school. Our new buckets will allow each of my students to have their own 'drum' during class, and the books will help me to plan some fun and educational lessons.
