Block play can boost children’s development like few other activities. Block play offers an open-ended, creative, and valuable play and learning experience available to every setting. It offers children freedom – to explore, take apart, and put back together any block-based creation they can think of. The use of dramatic play and building materials is essential for a child to learn how things in the world exist, how to problem solve, and self-esteem. It builds collaboration, language, creativity, math, and cognition. It develops their gross and fine motor skills as well as hand-eye coordination and vocabulary. Currently, the students do not have any building materials and this would be a start to developing a building area they can explore.
