The students in our class love Guided Reading Time. We read everyday! Currently, we have 6 or less readers at a time gather at our table. We have chairs but some students need to move a bit while they read. This helps them concentrate on their task. They are happier and more engaged in their reading when they can move. Their excitement is seen on their faces! By donating to our project, you will be directly impacting children's reading by giving them a safe movement option when working to learn to read. The same goes for me. When I am on the opposite side of the table and helping them to read, in a traditional seat, it is hard to reach them all to point out parts of the text they are struggling with. The weighted ball, will be used as a tool for me to more effectively reach my students when working with them.
