Technology has become a large part of scientific learning. Living in such a technologically driven world, I believe a classroom environment should provide the tools that students will need in future STEM careers. This iPad is the first step in helping my students develop and nurture new skills for their futures.
This necessary tool is the Swiss army knife that I can utilize in my classroom to provide learning strategies for all students. Data collection, presentation, and concept simulations are just a few ways that I plan on using the iPad with my students. The internet has created an endless supply of resources for students to explore. I am sure I don't yet know this gift's full potential, but am excited to have the opportunity to further my students' experiences.
Coming off of a full year of distance learning, social emotional needs and communication skills took a hit, and my students have been slow to create friendships and feel comfort in the classroom with their peers. This iPad can also serve as a collaboration tool that students can use to work together and grow interpersonal skills that are absolutely necessary through these formative years. By helping them connect, the learning process improves as they are willing to share ideas and be vulnerable.
