Many of my students are used to being the recipients of help in a variety of different ways. However, it is important that they too have the opportunity to experience the act of giving in order to develop their self-esteem and empathy for others. One great way we can this is by giving back to our community! We decided that packaging toiletry bags for a local women’s shelter would be a simple yet much needed act of kindness. Once we obtain our supplies, as a class we will assemble, label and package all bags and I will deliver to the shelter after school.
